Cool Solution to Rejuvenate and Heal.

I love learning about new, innovative ways of taking care of our skin in toxin free ways. In my adventures of trying to help my clients with eczema, I was introduced to an idea that was well… difficult to wrap my head around.

Cryotherapy

Yeah…. cryo, like freezing. Cold. Like Dr.Freeze from Batman.  This sounded way to cool (every pun intended) for me to not to investigate further!  Luckily for me there is a cryotherapy clinic right here in Kelowna called Cryo-Care, so I decided go have a tour and ask some questions.

My mind was blown!

Taylor Saukarookoff, owner and technician, opened my eyes to a whole new world of self care and pain management therapy that hospitals in Europe have been utilizing for decades. This therapy is called whole body cryotherapy and is effective for soooo much more than just skin care applications. In facts, the more I learned about its applications and benefits for inflammation and pain management, I needed to share the information with you!

So how does it work?

Whole body cryotherapy is exposing the body to low temperatures. In this cold environment the body pulls blood from the outer tissues to the inner core to keep the vital organs warm. Once the blood is in the inner organs, it goes through an internal cycle where it is cleaned of toxins and infused with nutrients and oxygen; endorphins and anti-inflammatories are also released during this process. After your whole body cryotherapy session, the blood returns to the outer tissues aiding to remove more toxins, while supporting your body to manage inflammation and pain.

What can it do for you?

Since opening on  September 1, 2015, Cryo Care has assisted clients with arthritis, post-surgery recovery, fibromyalgia, autoimmune diseases, car accident pain, skin conditions (eczema, acne, and cellulite), nerve damage, muscle pain, headaches, sleep patterns, low energy levels, and various other injuries (pulled muscles, bursitis, whiplash, bruised ankles, etc.)

After experiencing a tour of the clinic, and learning how this therapy brings better quality of life to many people, I decided this is where we needed to go for our November Field Trip!
